Chapter 1
Suki shot out of bed. 6:00AM. Time for school.
Suki was a 16 turning 17 today. She lived with her friends Shi, Shikura, Shiranku and Shiku.
She went into Shi's room first and nudged her and threw off the covers. She laughed. She always had fun doing that. Shi let out a low grumble and fell on the floor. Suki laughed harder. She walked out of her room and went downstairs to wake Shiku.
"Shiku," Suki's soft voice echoed through the hallway.
"I'm up already," Shiku's voice came from her dark candle lit room. Suki was worried. Shiku was never up early. Maybe she had something was bothering her. Hm¡ She lost her trail of though as she went into Shiranku¡¯s room. As she was walking Shiranku came walking out of her room.
"Hey Shiranku," Suki said heading upstairs.
"Morning," Shiranku yawned. She had probably been up late again. Shikura came down the stairs lastly and walked down for breakfast. Suki went upstairs to check something, while Shi was making breakfast. She yawned as she saw the Spirit mirror glowing. She was Suki, Air Spirit. Shi was Darkness spirit. Shiku was Death. Shikura was Light spirit and Shiranku Star spirit. Tonight was the full moon, when the turned into their spirit forms. Everything was different since they had fully done when they were 16. This was the only time of year they fully transformed.
She saw here hair already starting to turn silvery. She hoped this would be a quick day at school. Or they would be the school weird for another 8 years.
"Suki! Breakfast!" Shi shouted upstairs. "I made pancakes!"
"Coming!" They finished their pancakes and hurried off to school. They were late but they didn¡¯t honestly care. Suki headed off to English. Shiku head off to Math, Shi headed off to Science and Shikura, and Shiranku headed off Social Studies. English was so boring. The teacher blabbered on about some essay type thing. Suki doodled on her paper.
¡°Suki, can you tell me what the end of the essay about?¡± the teacher inquired noticing her not paying attention.
¡°Um¡ The, end of the essay?¡± Suki slid down in her chair. She should have been paying attention.
¡°See me next week for detention Ms. Usachi,¡± the teacher smirked at went to torture another student.
Shiku yawned as Math teacher carried on endlessly about some homework type thing. It didn¡¯t matter if she didn¡¯t hear. She had an A+ in math. She got everything, and the certainly didn¡¯t have an advanced, advanced math class.
¡°Shiku what is the main object of tonight¡¯s homework?¡±
¡°To... Um¡ get it done and get them all right,¡± Shiku hoped the other¡¯s days were going better.
¡°And you know colored highlights are not allowed in school. Detention for 2 days,¡± the teacher moved on. God, now she had detention because of her Spirit.
Shiranku gave Shikura that look of pure boredom. Social Studies was the number one most boring subject in the world. She continued to read her book even though the words were not going past her hard skull and entering her brain. She felt drowsy because she had not slept last night. Shikura nodded and gave her the same look.
¡°So Shiranku, judging on how you have finished the passage, can you tell me what was the main idea?¡±
¡°Um¡ The Nile River¡¡±
¡°Gee, can I know something, that¡¯s not absolutely, obvious,¡± the teacher said sarcastically, ¡°Detention tomorrow afternoon.¡±
7 periods went by and they headed off to their lockers. They looked in their mirrors. Suki¡¯s light blue eyes were turning darker. Shiku¡¯s dark hair was turn even more dark with silvery streaks. Shi's had a light purple tint to it. Shikura looks brighter than usual and Shiranku¡¯s was slivery like Shiku¡¯s. They could all feel the changes happening. In a couple of hours they would be almost in full form. They headed of to 8th period classes then to 9th, and 10th, school was finally over.
They hurried home just in time for their kimonos' to start appearing. Their hair was now silvery and colorful. Their eyes were now full and they powers were starting to come back. They rushed into their rooms to see what they looked like. Tonight on the full moon of May Akuryou would takes it's form and it was up to the 5 friends otherwise known as the Moon spirits would have to defeat him for the last time before he took a full form and he would be unstoppable.
Suki just noticed something. The night that he came out always seemed to land on a Moon Spirit birthday. This year it was her birthday. Last year it was Shi's. The year before that Shiku's...
She lost her trail of thought again as she headed downstairs. She walked towards her friends. They looked at each other. How much they had all changed in a year. Shi must have grown about a foot. How beautiful Shikura looked. Shiku was so slim she looked like she had never eaten before. Shiranku hair had grown so long it reached her waist. Suki looked at herself, then in a mirror. She looked different too, but in a different way. She had grown taller, her hair had grown longer, but she also looked more mature. She looked at her friends again. They had anxious but nervous looks in their eyes.
It was time that they were off to their secret place, on the moon. They were Moon Spirits. This meant they were to hold peace in every part of the world. They soared through the clouds and above the earth. In 15 minutes they were at the moon. Suki flew the fasted because she was the air spirit. Shiku meditated when they got there. Her powers were strongest when death was in the air. She was trying to control them. Suki started to meditate to try and find peace. Her peace was soon interrupted. Shi screamed. Suki opened her eyes to find Shi breathing heavily. Suki saw something in her eyes that she had never seen before. Fear.
Suki appeared at her side in a flash of light. "Shi what happened?"
"I had a vision," Shi continued, "Of Akuryou, He had armies and armies of, of,"
"What?" Shiku asked who had also appeared at her side.
"Akkis," Shi whispered. Shiranku and Shikura who had appeared at her side gasped.
"There's more..." Shi said. Everyone looked worried.
"He had a weapon I didn't get a close view of it looked like a staff. And he shot me with it and it ended. Before he shot me he told me He killed our parents." Shi turned away. Everyone had shocked expressions on their faces. They began to meditate again except she sat there staring at something in the distance. Shi sat there until Shiranku noticed and found what she was looking at. Akuryou had arrived.
Chapter 2
The armies attacked. Rays of fire came towards them.
"Ankoku kikan!" a black Mirror appeared in front of them. It started deflecting the shots of Akuryou.
"Shi did you--" Shikura started
"No."
"I did," A figure very much like Shi appeared behind them. "My name is Sumiko. I'm a Darkness Spirit. Of the Star Spirits."
"I know there are centuries of other Spirits but I didn't think--" Suki started
"We can talk later right now we have to fight." Sumiko stopped her from speaking. The mirror wore of.
"Tei nokkuauto!" Suki shouted. The first rows of Akkis were knocked out.
"Oujou tama!" Shiku screamed. Many rows of Akkis were wiped out. Then the saw him, except he looked human. Maybe they were too late. He had dark hair, red eyes, and extremely pale skin. Several Akkis were cornering them. They started to throw fireballs.
"Everyone behind me this will permanently blind you." Everyone backed away. "Buraindo awai!" Shikura's hands started to glow extremely bright. The Akkis started crashing into each other. A few fell down and other just shot things in all directions hoping to get something.
"Let¡¯s see if you can handle this!" Akuryou shouted. Flame came from all directions.
"Kyohaku tama!" Shiranku shouted. Something that appeared to be a shield surrounded them in a half circle. Everything bounced of the half sphere and bounced some other place. There were completely protected.
"Very good girls, I see you've trained well these past few years. Now you deserve the right to know who I am and why I'm here," Sumiko said.
"I'd like to know why you look so much like me!" Shi said as she examined Sumiko very closely appearing all around her watching her every move.
"Because Shi I'm a darkness spirit and so are you. All darkness spirits look like each other. There are different centuries of Spirits also. You happen to be the Usachi generation of Moon Spirits." Shi looked dumbfounded.
"Guys, the shield is wearing off, be prepared to fire," Shiranku said. In seconds the shield was gone. They fired and fired until. All off the Akkis were gone.
"They're gone...¡± Shiranku whispered. Akuryou appeared behind shot her and disappeared again. Shiranku fell. Suki rushed toward her.
"Shiranku!" The next second Suki got stabbed. She fell to the ground covered in blood. Her wings were no longer blue but splattered red.
"Suki!" Shikura screamed. Then she flew up in the air. Her bright yellow wings glowing with intensity. She held her hands together and lit up the sky. "Shi! Watch out He's behind you!" Shi shot up in the air and dodged him.
"Thanks Shikura. Guys Suki's form, it's not fading..."
"That's impossible Shi," Shiku flew down towards Suki. "That-- That's impossible," Shiku continued, "Unless she's well," Shiku looked away. She didn't want to say it. When a Spirit was injured that bad, they would lose they're form. Unless they died.
